Urban Community Based Health Clinics

 


Urban Community Based Health Clinics (UCHC) provide necessary preventive, primitives and curative health service for mother and children at one place. MCH clinic can be run at this PHC/HP/SHP and or in community as mobile outreach clinic (Gaunghar clinic). In Dharan Municipality UCHC clinic being conducted by basic level health workers (HA, AHW, ANMs, MCHs) In different ward like: 11, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17. MCH clinic have been found to be appropriate for providing MCH services to the antenatal natal post natal mother neonate and children.

Objective

 
 

  • To prevent maternal and child morbidity.
  • To decrease maternal mortality.
  • To raise reproductive health status of the urban youth.
  • To decrease prenatal death, neonatal death and puerperal pyrexia.
  • To encourage pregnant and postnatal mother to take highly nutritious food during this period.
  • To encourage all the couple to take contraceptives and visit ANC clinic during pregnancy regularly.
  • To detect high risk cases and establish their referral system.
  • To conduct normal delivery by the trained health workers.
